Every single action of a goalie – in defense as well as in offense – has to be well thought out. The perfect positioning, appearance and communication are crucial factors to influence a game in the right direction. Avoiding a shot and forcing an opponent to think twice or decide for a weak opportunity are as valuable qualities as being “great on the goal line”.
