Oldest living IWP Hall of Fame member, Ronald “Scotty” MacLagan, passes away at 96.

Illinois Water Polo is sad to announce the passing of Ronald “Scotty” MacLagan.  MacLagan was the oldest living Illinois Water Polo Hall of Fame inductee.  He was inducted into the IWP Hall of Fame in 1993 along with Fred Springer and Wee Barry.
Ronald R. (Scotty) MacLagan, of Lombard, passed on January 31st; Born June 1919 in Lumphinnans, Scotland. Beloved husband of Marie. Loved son Ronald J. and daughter Ann. Preceded in death by wives Elaine and Evelyn. Grandchildren Ryan, Brent, Elizabeth, and Andrew. Great grandchildren Jack, Amara, and Skye. He was an accomplished athlete, a US All-American, and on the Water Polo National Championship Team of 1947. Ronald also participated in the Pan American games in 1959 as an official and was part of organizing committee. He served in the Navy and was a WWII Veteran.
