Illinois Coaches and Official Honored by USA Water Polo
Two Illinois coaches and one official were recently honored by USA Water Polo (www.usawaterpolo.org) as 2016 Midwest Zone Award winners. On the coaching side, Doug Eichstaedt (Lyons Township High School boys’ water polo, USA Water Polo Midwest girls’ Olympic Development Program, and Lyons Water Polo club) earned the Doc Hunkler Distinguished Coaching Award, while Beto Garcia (IWP Vice-President, De La Salle High School boys’ water polo, and Chicago Park District Water Polo club) earned the Ted Newland Distinguished Coaching award. On the officiating side, Nicole Lum earned the Aaron Chaney Distinguished Referee Award. Congratulations to these Illinois award recipients.
